I only used a paw trimmer, and since becoming a hunting dog, my dog doesn't need to trim her coat. It works better than the trimmer I used before and is quieter. My dog doesn't mind the sound, she just hates her paws being touched. The trimmer is gentle on her paws, without sharp edges. I often trim the hair on her paws because she is 14 years old and if not trimmed, she will slip on the wooden floor.
